This movie got alot of good reviews. I personally hated it and easily got bored. People who like Blair Witch Project or Paranormal might like this film. Apparently, my taste is different and would say avoid this film even though it has Milla Jovovich and Elias Koteas in it.
It is boring, tries to be real but something phony comes across instead, and has crappy shaky camera work. Don't know why these filmmakers want to make it a roller coaster ride effect.
I looked up the authenticity of the movie online, and it seems questionable from what I read. Again, take a pass on this crappy movie.
Netflix Summary:
When Alaskan psychiatrist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) begins videotaping her therapy sessions with clients, she uncovers petrifying evidence that they have experienced the fourth level of alien encounter: abduction. But as she finds more clues, she suspects that the government will do anything to conceal the truth. Olatunde Osunsanmi directs and Will Patton co-stars in this jarring thriller allegedly based on a true tale.
I love watching movies. For the last 20 years, Both my wife and I have watched on average if not more than 365 movies a year. I have decided to keep a journal of all my movie experiences. Enjoy!

Survival of the Dead
I like watching zombie movies and accept them for what they are. Most are bad but there are always a few good ones. This particular movie Survival of the Dead was corny, boring, and not scary.
The idea behind this movie had potential. The execution just wasn't there. Pass on this and save your popcorn for another movie. Unless you want to fall asleep easy.
Netflix Summary:
Rebel military man Crocket (Alan Van Sprang) and his band of rogue soldiers seek refuge from the living dead, only to land squarely in a family feud between the undead-hating O'Flynns and the Muldoons, a cure-seeking clan determined to help their zombie kinfolk. Cult horror master George A. Romero rises again to deliver another delicious zombie fest where the festering question is: Can a caring family coexist with their flesh-eating loved ones?

The Descent: Part 2
I watched the first horror movie The Descent and that was both scary and good. Usually the follow up movies aren't as good. This movie's sequel is an exception.
It was a good scary movie. If you are in the mood for a horror thriller, then movie this will fit the bill. Enjoy!
Netflix Summary:
In this gruesome thriller, blood-drenched Sarah Carter (Shauna MacDonald) surfaces as the lone escapee from the savage cave-dwelling Crawlers that terrorized her and five others. Traumatized and unable to explain the nightmare, she must return to help find her friends. But it's not long before the search team becomes the Crawlers' fresh prey. And Sarah once again battles to cheat death, as she clings to the hope that her friends are alive.

Sauna aka Filth
This was a crappy movie. Again, I am mislead by the netflix community into thinking this was an Indie or Art House type movie with their glowing reveiws. I should have known by the previews on the dvd before the movie started, that I would hate this movie.
Netflix Summary:
This is a foreign movie that pretends to be a horror movie but it is mostly a drama. The characters are all unlikeable. The plot simply fails from beginning to end. The movie is slow paced and could have been told in 10 minutes.
Avoid this movie! The trailer is better than the whole movie.
Netflix Summary:
While mapping the new border with Russia in 1595, Finnish soldier brothers Erik (Ville Virtanen) and Knut (Tommi Eronen) stumble upon a spooky, almost-childless undocumented town. There, they find a mysterious sauna that forces all who enter it to face their past sins. Finnish director Antti-Jussi Annila's masterfully atmospheric horror film screened at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival.

Jennifer's Body
This is not really a vampire or zombie movie, but it does feel like it at times. The acting was pretty good, and the storyline decent. It has all the elements of a good horror movie that can even make you jump at times.
Jennifer's Body - Red Band Trailer
Uploaded by dreadcentral. - Full seasons and entire episodes online.
I did like this movie for what it is. I am not sure why all the bad reviews are out there, but I would recommend it as a good horror flick. Enjoy!

Paranormal Activity sucks
Yes, another horror movie for us. I heard great reviews about this movie about it being scary. I was ready to be scared. For the Netflix users who gave this 5 stars, I think they are wacked!
Unfortunately, I wasted my time. This movie was crap. The same crap as the Blair Witch Project. That movie was crap. This movie is about at that same crap level. Don't waste your time with this crap.
If you want to know how bad this movie was, try to think of the worst movie you ever saw, and this was still worse than that.
Netflix Summary:
When Katie (Katie Featherston) and Micah (Micah Sloat) fear their San Diego, Calif., home may be haunted by a demonic presence, Micah sets up a video camera to document all the jaw-dropping, hair-raising action over a series of several nights in fall 2006. The paranormal occurrences increase in frequency and significance, leaving Katie more and more distraught -- and determined to put an end to the terror.

Daybreakers
I love vampire movies but unfortunately they are mostly not good movies. Entertaining but usually bad movies in general. Now in regards to Daybreakers, it is definitely entertaining. The storyline is different and appealing, the acting good (surprised to see big names), and the ending is predictable.
If you are looking for a great movie to watch this isn't it. If you like vampire movies and want to be entertained, this is as good as most of them. Grab some popcorn and enjoy.
Netflix Summary:
Earth's population is up against a vicious plague that's transforming everyone into vampires and draining the world of an increasingly precious resource: blood. Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) and "Elvis" Cormac (Willem Dafoe) must decide what happens next. As the human race count nears zero, will vampires feast on the few men and women who remain, or could science hold the key to a less destructive solution? Sam Neill and Claudia Karvan co-star.

Zombieland
Is there such thing as a comedy horror movie? This is what this movie was. Most times it was humorous more than it was scary. Overall, a fun movie to watch. The acting is fine, the plot simple and pointless, but the goal of being entertained was easily met.
For the most part, zombie movies are bad and if you enjoy watching them you know you have to lower your expectations. So enjoy it for what it is.
Cheers!
Cheers!

An easily spooked guy, Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), joins forces with wild man Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) to fight for survival in a world virtually taken over by freakish zombies. As they destroy scores of the undead, they meet up with two other survivors, Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and Wichita (Emma Stone), and journey to a supposedly safe abandoned amusement park. The Twilight Saga: New Moon
I like horror movies in general. I especially enjoy Vampire films. Even so, I always put my expectations lower because of the type of film it is.
I thought the first movie was good. After watching half way through this movie, I was irritated. They made the main character weak, whiny, and stupid. And they continued to develop her character that way. It was very disappointing.
I would not recommend watching this movie because you would be mad at me and I persoanlly could not sit through it again. The director sucked this time, the actors were decent, and the storyline was predictably stupid with a retarded ending. Which leads into the third story movie.
Netflix summary:
In this sequel to Twilight directed by Chris Weitz (American Pie), Forks, Wash., resident Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is reeling from the departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and finds comfort in her friendship with Jacob Black, a werewolf (Taylor Lautner). But before she knows it, she's thrust into a centuries-old conflict, and her desire to be with Edward at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.

The Haunting in Connecticut
I love horror movies of all sorts. This story is based on true events which kind of makes it more scary. I will be upfront and say I have lower expectations on horror, gore, and scary movies in general. I just expect them to do one thing and that is to scare me.
This movie went beyond my expectations. It had good acting, a storyline, and scared me at times. I don't know how much of it is true and what is made up for movie purposes, but it definitely entertained. I recommend watching it if you get a chance.

Drag Me to Hell
This is another horror movie set in modern times. Like I said before, you have to lower your expectations in most of the movies in this genre because they are simply horror movies. LOL.
This had some well known actors Alison Lohman and Justin Long (the Mac guy). The plot was actually very good and has some good twists. Of course the standard scare scenes with the sound effects to make you jump are here. Overall, this was a very good horror flick. My wife guessed the ending that I didn't see coming.
Usually, most previews give away all the scary scenes. This movie has a lot of potential and it reaches them. Again, this is on the horror movie scale of lowered expectations. I definitely recommend watching this movie.

Wrong Turn 3
I love to watch horror movies, but I always lower my expectations because I know most of them are just bad. This movie is no exception. However, they are always entertaining. I don't recognize any of the actors so I won't plug them here.
There are some scary scenes and some just gruesome. If you like horror movies in general, then you will enjoy this. I think the first one is the best of this series.

4 movies yesterday
Obviously, I haven't been posting everyday like I would have liked, but trust me I am watching movies everyday. Yesterday, I watched some horror and science fiction movies.
The first movie was called War Games 2 with no major actors that I recognized. It was very predictable, but still a good fun film. I watched the first one from the late 80s with Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy. It's funny how far computers have advanced since then. Basically, most desktop computers are more powerful than the supercomputers from back then.
The second movie I watched was called Karla with Laura Preppon. It was suppose to be about a serial killer couple but it was so slow and boring, that my wife and I decided to stop watching after 30 minutes. Too much talking and some bad camera work at times.
The third movie I watched was Species 3 which was just OK. When you watch these types of movies you can't set your standards too high, otherwise you would never ever watch them. I like science fiction/action/thriller type of movies so this held my attention. It wasn't a great movie but worth watching once.
The last movie I watched was Resident Evil Extinction. This was actually a great zombie sci fi action movie. Never boring and fast paced. I seen the previous 2 movies, though I admit I don't really remember the details. Bottom line this is a good entertaining movie and I would recommend watching it with a bucket of popcorn.
